Leaders and Followers
Training. Techniques to teach you effective ways of dancing with a
partner.
Do you have trouble understanding your
partner? Does your partner refuse to do
what you ask her to do? When he asks you
to turn right, do you think he wants you to turn left? Then this workshop is designed for you!
Whether you are a leader or follower, improve your
ability to communicate, and learn how to effectively dance with a partner. During this workshop, you will utilize
various exercises that focus on the two types of lead: physical (push/pull) and
visual, and how to follow them. We will
also focus on the role and responsibilities that leaders and followers have to
each other while dancing, and how to apply them. (Note: the secret art of verbal leading is
not covered in this workshop.) Open to
all dancers, at any level.

Ballroom - Latin Dance Party

Dance Classes starting Monday, July 13, 2009
Advanced Beginner Salsa - 7 to 8 pm.
You must already know the basics, including basic step, right turn, lady’s
underarm turn, cross-body lead, and cross-body lead with inside turn.
Instructor: Marc Liebeskind
Course fee:
$40 for four weeks.
Intermediate Salsa: Ongoing class. 7 to 8pm
Salsa
Choreography Group: 8 to 9pm (8 week training continues from last month. Admission is by pre-registration only).
Intermediate/Advanced
International Rumba: 9 to 10pm Covers silver and
gold patterns.
Dance
Technique Class: 10 to 11pm Ongoing class with a specific focus each
week. Excellent way to improve how you
dance.
Instructor: Emily Tang
Course fees:
Summer special: 4 weeks of classes are $40 if paid in advance. Walk-ins permitted at $12 per class provided
you can demonstrate proficiency at the class level.
